Evidence-Based Mental Health Nutrition

Evidence-Based Mental Health Nutrition
As a Registered Dietitian (RD) specializing in mental health nutrition, I use evidence-based nutrition counselling to support ADHD, anxiety & depression, emotional eating, binge eating, and your relationship with food. My approach focuses on the four key pillars below to help you build sustainable habits that support both your physical and mental health.

What You Eat: Balanced Nutrition
Learn how to easily build balanced meals that nourish your brain and body. Together, we'll focus on practical meals to support ADHD, anxiety, depression, energy, and overall mental health.
When You Eat:
Meal Timing
Consistent eating patterns play an important role in blood sugar balance, energy, mood, concentration, and appetite regulation. Learn how to nourish yourself throughout the day
How You Eat: Mindful Eating
Develop awareness of your hunger, fullness, emotions, and eating habits. By slowing down and eating with intention, you can reduce emotional eating, optimize digestion and build greater confidence around food.
Why You Eat:
Food Mindset
We'll explore the thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and experiences that influence your eating patterns to help you overcome emotional eating, binge eating, food guilt and all or nothing thinking while building a healthier relationship with food.

Bridging the Gap between nutrition & mental health
Mental health nutrition explores how the foods you eat influence your brain, mood, focus, and overall mental well-being. Research shows that nutrition plays an important role in supporting conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional eating, and binge eating, while also helping to improve energy, concentration, and emotional resilience.
Your relationship with food is equally important. It reflects the thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and habits that shape how you eat each day. When eating is driven by guilt, restriction, stress, or all-or-nothing thinking, it can become difficult to nourish your body consistently - even when you know what foods are "healthy."

At The Mental Health RD, I believe lasting change comes from addressing both nutrition and psychology. Together, we'll build a flexible, sustainable way of eating that supports your mental health, improves your relationship with food, and helps you feel confident making food choices without guilt or rigid rules.
*DISCLAIMER: I am a Registered Dietitian, not a licensed therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist. My expertise lies in the field of nutrition. While I can provide valuable support and guidance in optimizing your nutrition for mental health, it is important to note that my services do not replace the need for comprehensive mental health care provided by licensed mental health professionals. If you are experiencing mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, or mood disorders, I strongly recommend seeking guidance from a qualified mental health therapist or psychiatrist. If you are under the care of a mental health professional, it is essential to inform them of any dietary changes or nutritional interventions we discuss during our sessions. By proceeding with nutrition counseling for mental health, you acknowledge and understand the limitations of my services and the importance of seeking appropriate mental health care when needed.
